One of the biggest challenges we face at Lesedi Outreach is the language barrier. The language of instruction (being English) is in most cases not the children’s mother language, which presents a number of challenges while teaching.
We acknowledge that all students have different strengths and we work together as a team to achieve the greatest success. With the assistance of Oxford University Press who donated 25 dictionaries to the Lesedi Outreach Programme, the students will now be able to self-study and extend their vocabulary of the English language.
This last week we spent the day learning how to use a dictionary and playing some fun word games with their new books.
